Yoga classes start TOMORROW (Wednesday, January 31). Also, it’s not too late to sign up for TaeKwonDo classes.

Stephanie Roldan from Blissful Owl will hold classes every Wednesday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for boys and girls in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

Kids TaeKwonDo
Vinson Villena, owner of Flying V Athletic Center, will hold TaeKwonDo classes every Thursday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for all students in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

Uniform (Dobuk) is optional. Purchase information will be handed out during class.

Library Reader/Helper volunteer spots available!

Volunteer spots are available to help Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students during their library time. 

Volunteers for Kindergarten will have the opportunity to read to the students. Volunteers for 1st and 2nd grade will help students find books for checkout and then have the opportunity to read to the students.

Following is the library schedule for K, 1st, and 2nd grade:

Wednesdays
Kindergarten: 8:40 – 9:00am
1st Grade: 1:50 – 2:20pm
2nd Grade: 2:20 – 2:50pm

Blythe Park PTA Fun Lunch is next Friday, February 9th! The PTA will serve all students lunch at no cost to their families.

To make this event a success, we’re looking for volunteers to help setup, cook, serve, and cleanup.

This year’s theme is “You Are My SUNSHINE”. The menu will feature homemade macaroni and cheese, plain noodles, oranges, carrots, orange sherbet, crystal light and water.

Early Learners and Kindergarteners are invited to join us for lunch too! **Each early learner and kindergartener must be accompanied by an adult guardian. A flyer was sent home with an RSVP form.

The PTA Executive Board is looking for volunteers to fill the two general member and one alternate general member slots on the Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee will develop the slate of candidates for the 2018-2019 PTA Executive Board. The proposed slate will be presented at the March PTA Meeting, then voted on during the April meeting.

“Read to Succeed” Program reading logs are due next Friday, February 9th.

Every K-5th Grade Blythe Park student who completes six hours of recreational reading and submits a signed reading log by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9th will receive one free admission ticket to a participating Six Flags Theme Park this summer.

K-5th Grade STUDENTS: Read for fun for a total of 6 hours, log your time and have your parent/guardian sign the reading log.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Print the reading log listed below and help track your child’s reading. Then sign the form and send it back to school or email to the School Coordinator, Michelle Ruska at mbulir@aol.com

Show off your talent in the Blythe Park PTA Talent Show on Thursday, March 1st.

This year’s Talent Show will be held on Thursday, March 1st at 7pm with a mandatory dress rehearsal on Wednesday, February 28th from 3:00pm-4:30pm.

Requirements for participating in the show are as follows:

  • All acts are prepared and rehearsed by the child or group on their own time
  • All acts can be no longer than two minutes in length
  • Music needs to be approved by Mrs. Smith. If possible, please supply a copy of the music for the show.
  • Participants are responsible for supplying any props and costumes needed for their performance.

Participants will be asked to present their act to the Talent Show Committee the week of February 12th during their lunchtime. *Participants will be notified of their specific presentation date.

*Note: The permission slip will also be sent home in student backpacks this week.

Box Tops Contest! Help your child’s class win a pizza party.

The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops submitted through February 23rd will win a Pizza Party for their class!

  • Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time either on collection sheets or in a baggie/envelope with the students name and grade: Box Tops – Collection Sheet
  • Be sure the Box Tops submitted are not expired (expired Box Tops do not count towards the contest).
  • Every valid Box Top submitted is worth $0.10 for the school!!
