The Blythe Park PTA is looking for members who are interested in serving on the 2018-2019 Executive Board. Completed application forms must be submitted to the Blythe Park Office by Thursday, March 1st.

2018-2019 EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS:
Listed below are the 2018-2019 Executive Board positions. Click on the following link for a full description of each position – Blythe Park PTA Officer Descriptions.

  • President
  • First Vice President (Membership and Volunteers)
  • Second Vice President (Academic Enrichment Programs)
  • Third Vice President (Fundraising)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Parliamentarian
  • Communications Officer

APPLICATION GUIDELINES:
Each term is one year. No person can serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position. Therefore, if an office holder has completed the one year term, he/she is welcome to apply for one more year in that same position.

However, it is mandatory that office holders seeking a second term in the same position, office holders seeking a different position on the executive board, and general members seeking a position on the Executive Board submit a formal application to be considered by the Nominating Committee.

*EVERY person desiring a position on the Blythe Park PTA Executive Board must submit a formal application. All applications are confidential and will only be discussed between members of the Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee’s Proposed Slate will be presented at the March PTA General Membership Meeting and voted on at the April meeting. Elected officers will be installed at the May 2018 PTA General Membership meeting.

If interested – Please submit a completed application form to the Blythe Park Office by Thursday, March 1st. District 96 Kindergarten Information and Registration Night

  • LOCATION: Hauser Auditorium, 65 Woodside Rd.

Elementary school principals and Kindergarten teachers will be available at the presentation. There is an early bird discount on registration fees. *Note – Parents only please.

The PTA has reserved the entire Oak Brook Aquatic Center to splash around with Blythe Park families and friends. A snack will be provided by the PTA.

WHEN: Saturday, March 10th
TIME: 6:00-8:00pm
WHERE: Oak Brook Aquatic Center, 1450 Forest Gate Rd., Oak Brook
COST: FREE (No registration required.)

*An adult must accompany all children attending.

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

Hot Lunch is this Friday, February 23rd. The menu will include: a slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, a treat and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. (You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.)

TO REGISTER – Please click on the following CheddarUp button, no matter your payment method (cash, check, credit). Reservation deadline is this WEDNESDAY, February 21st.

If paying by cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) please place payment in an envelope marked with your family name and “Hot Lunch” and bring to the school office.

*NOTE – This program is only for children that have the option of staying at school for lunch.

Box Tops Contest – Collection sheets due Friday!

The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops submitted through THIS Friday, February 23rd will win a Pizza Party for their class!

  • Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time either in a baggie/envelope with the students name/grade OR on collection sheets: Box Tops – Collection Sheet
  • Be sure the Box Tops submitted are not expired (expired Box Tops do not count towards the contest).
  • Every valid Box Top submitted is worth $0.10 for the school!!

Library Reader/Helper volunteer spots available!

Volunteer spots are available to help Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students during their library time. 

Volunteers for Kindergarten will have the opportunity to read to the students. Volunteers for 1st and 2nd grade will help students find books for checkout and then have the opportunity to read to the students.

Following is the library schedule for K, 1st, and 2nd grade:

Wednesdays
Kindergarten: 8:40 – 9:00am
1st Grade: 1:50 – 2:20pm
2nd Grade: 2:20 – 2:50pm
