The Blythe Park PTA is looking for members who are interested in serving on the 2018-2019 Executive BoardPTA leadership positions are a great opportunity to help make decisions that enhance your child’s educational experience!

2018-2019 EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS:
Listed below are the 2018-2019 Executive Board positions. Click on the following link for a full description of each position – Blythe Park PTA Officer Descriptions.

  • President
  • First Vice President (Membership and Volunteers)
  • Second Vice President (Academic Enrichment Programs)
  • Third Vice President (Fundraising)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Parliamentarian
  • Communications Officer

APPLICATION GUIDELINES:
Each term is one year. No person can serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position. Therefore, if an office holder has completed the one year term, he/she is welcome to apply for one more year in that same position.

However, it is mandatory that office holders seeking a second term in the same position, office holders seeking a different position on the executive board, and general members seeking a position on the Executive Board submit a formal application to be considered by the Nominating Committee.

*EVERY person desiring a position on the Blythe Park PTA Executive Board must submit a formal application. All applications are confidential and will only be discussed between members of the Nominating Committee.

2018 Proposed NOMINATING COMMITTEE:

The Nominating Committee’s Proposed Slate will be presented at the March PTA General Membership Meeting and voted on at the April meeting. Elected officers will be installed at the May 2018 PTA General Membership meeting.

If interested, please submit a completed application form to the Blythe Park Office by Thursday, March 1st. Box Tops Contest – Help your child’s class win a pizza party!

The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops submitted through next Friday, February 23rd will win a Pizza Party for their class!

  • Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time either in a baggie/envelope with the students name/grade OR on collection sheets: Box Tops – Collection Sheet
  • Be sure the Box Tops submitted are not expired (expired Box Tops do not count towards the contest).
  • Every valid Box Top submitted is worth $0.10 for the school!!

Blythe Park PTA Fun Lunch is this Friday, February 9th! The PTA will serve all students lunch at no cost to their families. *Remember not to pack a lunch on Friday!

This year’s theme is “You Are My SUNSHINE”. The menu will feature homemade macaroni and cheese, plain noodles, oranges, carrots, orange sherbet, crystal light and water.

Early Learners and Kindergarteners are invited to join us for lunch too! **Each early learner and kindergartener must be accompanied by an adult guardian.

To make this event a success, we’re still looking for volunteers to help setup and cook.

Six Flags Reading Logs are due Friday!

“Read to Succeed” Program reading logs are due THIS Friday, February 9th.

Every K-5th Grade Blythe Park student who completes six hours of recreational reading and submits a signed reading log by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9th will receive one free admission ticket to a participating Six Flags Theme Park this summer.

K-5th Grade STUDENTS: Read for fun for a total of 6 hours, log your time and have your parent/guardian sign the reading log.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Print the reading log listed below and help track your child’s reading. Then sign the form and send it back to school or email to the School Coordinator, Michelle Ruska at mbulir@aol.com

Hauser PT0’s Annual Family Dinner on February 14th. Fifth graders are FREE!

Hauser PTO’s Annual Pasta Dinner will be held on Wednesday, February 14th. Bring the whole family for pasta with sauce and meatballs, salad, fresh bread and homemade dessert.

DATE – Wednesday, February 14th
TIME – 5:00pm-7:00pm
WHERE – Hauser Cafeteria

COST – Tickets are $5.00 per person if purchased by Monday, February 12th. After Feb. 12th, the ticket price will increase to $7.00. Fifth graders and children under age 5 are FREE with a paying adult. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $7.00 each.

Our neighboring communities (including Berwyn, Brookfield, and LaGrange) belong to a Special Recreation Association that combines resources to provide services for children and adults with special needs.

On February 15th, the Village Board is discussing the possibility of Riverside joining the West Suburban Special Recreation Association (WSSRA).
