Congratulations to all the young scientists who participated in this year’s PTA Science Fair!

Spa Day Fundraiser was a success!

The PTA would like to thank everyone who attended the Spa Day Fundraiser. It was a huge success and raised $810! A nice time was had by all. Everyone enjoyed the services, wine, food, and socializing with other Blythe Park parents and friends!

  • Jill Crist and Karen Magee for hosting/chairing this event.

SAVE THE DATE – Flag Ceremony on May 29th

Blythe Park will hold a flag ceremony on Tuesday, May 29th at 8:15am in honor of Memorial Day.

Students, parents, and community members will meet in front of the school to  honor our nation’s symbol and remember those who fought and sacrificed for our country.

Calling all Scouts to Participate!
The Blythe Park Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will help conduct the ceremony.  If you have a scout, please have them wear their uniform on May 29th. *NOTE: Scouts must wear their uniform to participate.

*More information will be posted closer to the event.

  • Clean-up volunteers for Staff Breakfast (May 8) and Staff Lunch (May 11)
  • Food donations for Staff Breakfast (breakfast casserole, breakfast potato dish), Staff Lunch (side dishes) and “Cake Walk” (cake)

Student Garden Club meets Tuesday and Thursday.

The Blythe Park Garden Club for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students will meet this Tuesday and Thursday from 11:25am – 12:15pm in Mrs. Bryan’s room.

Mrs. Bryan and Mrs. Sayre will help students research flowers and plants for the Blythe Park Butterfly Garden. Students will be weeding and planting the garden!

*NOTE: Remember to bring your lunch.

HighTouch HighTech classroom science demonstrations Tuesday!

This Tuesday, HighTouch HighTech scientists will bring fun science experiments to Blythe Park classrooms. *Sponsored by the PTA.

Hands-on science experiments will allow students to make direct observations, manipulate materials and equipment, and develop an understanding of how science applies to daily life.

Students will be experimenting with the following topics:

  • KindergartenLet’s Make Sense: Exploring our 5 senses. Discovering how much we rely on our senses.
  • 1st GradeDig It: Learning about gems, rocks, and minerals and where they come from. Uncovering the mysteries of rock formation and crystalline structure. Panning for real gems. Classifying gems and finding out why they are precious.
  • 2nd Grade – Extreme Scene: Learning about the earth’s extreme environments. Learning about deserts and how animals and plants adapt to harsh climates. Learning about arctic biomes and how animals stay warm. Making things glow with bioluminescence.
  • 3rd GradeMatter Matters: Discovering all states of matter including plasma. Exploring evaporation rates and the cool journey from liquid to gas. Discovering liquid densities.
  • 4th Grade – Globs, Goo, and Guts: Making all kinds of icky sticky stuff. Hands-on look at real cow guts. Learning the systems of the body, and finding out what makes us tick.
  • 5th GradeiCool: Learning about mechanical and electrical engineering. Building prototypes and designing a mechanical grabber, bug bots, and hover crafts.

PTA Sponsored Assembly this WEDNESDAY at 9:30am.

There will be a PTA sponsored Assembly this Wednesday, April 25th at 9:30am, outdoors (weather permitting).

Matt Wilhelm, a BMX bike rider and motivational speaker, will be entertaining and educating Blythe Park students with BMX bike tricks and his own inspiring stories of beating the odds to becoming a BMX National Champion.

Kids can apply his messages about respect, responsibility, and resilience to their own everyday lives.

*Parents are welcome to attend.
