A volunteer spot is available this Wednesday to help PM Kindergarten during their library time. 

Volunteers for Kindergarten will have the opportunity to read to the students.

Following is the library schedule for K, 1st, and 2nd grade:

Wednesdays
AM Kindergarten: 8:30 – 8:50am
2nd Grade: 1:50 – 2:20pm
PM Kindergarten: 2:20 – 2:50pm

Thursdays
1st Grade: 12:20 – 12:50pm

Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is next week Monday, May 6th – Friday, May 10th.

Volunteer slots are still available for:

  • Decorating – THIS Friday (May 3rd)
  • Breakfast: Set-up, Clean-up, make a Potato Dish – next Tuesday
  • Luncheon: Set-up, Clean-up, make a Dessert – next Friday

This year’s theme is “Reading with the Stars”. The week will feature special events and treats for all teachers and staff (Early Learners thru 5th Grade).

Parent/guardian helpers are needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Cardio Kids from 7:45-8:05 am.

Helpers will handout lap markers or patrol the course to ensure student safety.

The Rain Gutter Regatta is fast approaching! This year, Ms. Gorman would like help from parent/guardian volunteers to guide students in making their boats for the Rain Gutter Regatta. (The regatta will take place during Field Day on June 7th).

Rain Gutter Boat Building Sessions

WHO – Volunteers with a love for building needed! 

WHAT – 45-60 minute Boat Building Sessions
Sessions can be 10-15 minutes of suggestions/tips on effective boat building followed by guiding students to design and create their own boats.

WHEN – After School OR during Lunch. Dates to be determined.

The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops will win a POPSCILCLE PARTY for their class!

  • Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time either in a baggie/envelope with the student’s name/grade OR on collection sheets: Box Tops – Collection Sheet
  • *REMINDER – Identify your name, grade and AM/PM (for Early Learners and Kindergarten) in order to get full credit for your class in the contests. 
  • Be sure the Box Tops submitted are not expired (expired Box Tops do not count towards the contest).

In an effort to support and encourage healthy, fit lifestyles for our students, Blythe Park School is excited to introduce you to a program called D96 Fit!

What is D96 Fit?
D96 Fit is a community that encourages daily fitness and wellness. Each month, your child will be presented with a monthly fitness challenge. Parents are also encouraged to participate with their child in an effort to promote and model healthy life choices. 

Pilot Information –
Blythe Park School is piloting D96 Fit throughout the remainder of April and May. At the end of May, a survey link will be sent to D96 Fit participants asking for feedback regarding the program.

Celebrate Earth Week this week (April 22–26)!

Ask your child about his or her pledge to help the environment and look for conservation updates posted throughout the week to Blythe Park’s Facebook page.

Following are some activities you can do to celebrate Earth Week:

Don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers! The bulbs the students planted in the fall are blooming all around Blythe Park. Enjoy!
