We’re in the home stretch! Let’s have some extra fun the last two weeks of the school year.

Come to school dressed to celebrate the following theme days:

  • Tuesday, May 28 – “Proud America” – Wear Red, White, Blue
  • Wednesday, May 29 – “Mismatch Day” – Wear NOTHING that matches!
  • Thursday, May 30 – “Outside In” – Wear your clothes inside out!
  • Friday, May 31 – “Sun and Ice” – Bring a beach towel and sunglasses and read outside while enjoying ice cream w. mint chocolate sauce.
  • Monday, June 3 – “Heads and Toes” – Wear your favorite hat and your craziest socks.
  • Tuesday, June 4 – Write a welcome letter to a student coming into your grade next year.
  • Wednesday, June 5 – “Earth Dome Day” – Blend in with our Earth. Wear a combination of blue, green, gray, and white.
  • Thursday, June 6 – “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” – Wear a baseball jersey or your favorite baseball gear.
  • Friday, June 7 – “A Rainbow of Color” – Wear your t-shirt color for Field Day! *NOTE: Notification of team colors will be sent in a separate email.
  • Monday, June 10 – “Proud to be a Bulldog – Wear your Blythe Park spirit wear!

Boat Engineering 101 – Signup for this Wed or Thurs!

The Field Day Rain Gutter Regatta is fast approaching! If your child needs assistance in building a boat, signup and have your student bring his or her boat building supplies to the art room this Wednesday or Thursday to receive help from Ms. Gorman and a Blythe Park parent.

*NOTE: Students do not need to attend a boat building session if they have opted to craft their boat at home on their own. 

  • Wednesday, May 29 from 11:25am–12:15pm (Ms. Gorman and Mark Parslow)
  • Thursday, May 30 from 3:00–4:00pm (Ms. Gorman and Jessica O’Brien)

*NOTE: All captains must complete their boat and bring it to school by Wednesday, June 5th (so it will be ready for Field Day on June 7th).

RJWC Annual Parade Theme Contest

Calling all Kindergarten thru 5th Graders! The Riverside Junior Woman’s Charity (RJWC) is having it’s annual parade theme contest for the Riverside 4th of July Parade.

RJWC is looking for a theme name that is both patriotic and unique for the 150th Anniversary!

Blythe Park PTA’s 2019-2020 School Supply Kit sale will run until June 10th*. All class supply lists (Kindergarten thru 5th Grade) are available for purchase online from The Write Stuff. School supplies will be delivered to the school in August.

Online Ordering Instructions –

1) Go to www.write-stuff.com/storefront/school/blythe
2) Select grade level.
3) Select “boy” or “girl” kit within grade level.
4) Enter student name. *NOTE: Item quantities can be changed if you already have an item in the kit.
5) Follow prompts to check out.
6) Save and print email confirmation for your records.

*NOTE: There is no cost to have your kits shipped to school if ordered by June 10th.  If you order after June 10th or have the kits delivered to another location, standard shipping charges will apply.

Box Tops due Friday – Win a popsicle party!

The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops will win a POPSICLE PARTY for their class! Box Tops must be turned into the office this Friday, May 24th.

  • Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time either in a baggie/envelope with the student’s name/grade OR on collection sheets: Box Tops – Collection Sheet
  • *REMINDER – Identify your name, grade and AM/PM (for Early Learners and Kindergarten) in order to get full credit for your class in the contests. 
  • Be sure the Box Tops submitted are not expired (expired Box Tops do not count towards the contest).
