First “Science and a Sandwich” Session starts this Thursday!

Sign your student up for a “Science and a Sandwich” session so they can have fun learning about science during lunch. To get students thinking about science, the Blythe Park PTA will conduct four “Science and a Sandwich” sessions during lunch. The goal of the sessions is to start students thinking about science and encourage them to participate in this year’s PTA Science Fair on Thursday, April 27th.

During the “Science and a Sandwich” sessions, students will eat their lunch while a parent guest speaker explains a science experiment. (*Students must bring their own lunch.)  After eating, the students will conduct the science experiment and log their data.

The program is open to 1st -5th Graders and Kindergarteners accompanied by a parent or guardian. Each session has a capacity of 20 students.

If you are interested in serving on the Blythe Park PTA Executive Board, please submit a completed application form to the Blythe Park office by this Wednesday, March 1st. Applications can be obtained from the office or by clicking on the following link: 2017-2018 Executive Board Application

The Nominating Committee’s Proposed Slate will be presented at the Thursday, March 9th PTA General Membership Meeting and voted on at the April meeting. Elected officers will be installed at the May 2017 PTA General Membership meeting.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES:
Each term is one year. No person can serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position. Therefore, if an office holder has completed the one year term, he/she is welcome to apply for one more year in that same position.

However, it is mandatory that office holders seeking a second term in the same position, office holders seeking a different position on the executive board, and general members seeking a position on the Executive Board submit a formal application to be considered by the Nominating Committee.

*EVERY person desiring a position on the Blythe Park PTA Executive Board must submit a formal application. All applications are confidential and will only be discussed between members of the Nominating Committee.

PTA Fun Lunch is this Friday, March 3rd!

This Friday, March 3rd is the Blythe Park PTA Fun Lunch! The PTA will serve all the students lunch at no cost to their families. **Remember not to pack a lunch on Friday!

This year’s theme is “You Are My SUNSHINE”. The menu will feature homemade macaroni and cheese, plain noodles, oranges, carrots, orange sherbet, crystal light and water.

Kindergarteners are invited to join us for the lunch too. Each kindergartener will need to be accompanied by an adult guardian. A flyer will be sent home with an RSVP form.

The PTA has reserved the entire Oak Brook Aquatic Center to splash around with Blythe Park families and friends. A snack will be provided. *An adult must accompany all children attending.

WHEN – Saturday, March 4th from 6:00-8:00pm
WHERE – Oak Brook Aquatic Center, 1450 Forest Gate Rd., Oak Brook
COST – $5 per child **Must be accompanied by an adult (Pay ahead or at the door.)

Mixed Bag Fundraiser starts Monday, March 6th

The Mixed Bag Fundraiser will begin next Monday, March 6th. Blythe Park families and friends can purchase tote bags, accessories and more and a portion of the sales will go to Blythe Park.

Fourth Grade wins Box Top Contest!

Thank you Blythe Park families for your support of our Box Tops contest!!  We were able to raise $258.60 as a result of the contest!

4th Grade is the winner of the pizza party to be held on Friday, March 17th!
