Bring the whole family for pasta with sauce and meatballs, salad, fresh bread and homemade dessert.

COST – Tickets are $5.00 per person if purchased by TODAY (Monday, February 13th). After today, the ticket price will increase to $7.00. Fifth graders and children under age 5 are FREE with a paying adult. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $7.00 each.

Urban Gateways – The Birthplace of Rhythm (The Global Show)

Three drummers from the Pulse Beat Music Chicago Collective performed rhythms and songs from regions around the world.

The drummers are accomplished musicians from Chicago who have traveled the globe to study a wide variety of music and cultures firsthand.

Girls Yoga this Wednesday.

Girls Yoga will take place this Wednesday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for girls in Kindergarten-5th Grade. *Class reservation deadline is Tuesday.

Kids Tae Kwon Do this Thursday.

Kids Tae Kwon Do will be held on Thursday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for all students in K-5th Grade. *Class reservation deadline is Wednesday. You must signup to participate.

Presentations to Talent Show Committee this Wednesday, February 15th

ALL students interested in participating in this year’s PTA Talent Show must make a presentation to the Talent Show Committee this Wednesday, February 15th during lunch in the Blythe Auditorium.

Students should be prepared to present their ideas or acts to the Committee. Participants should bring a CD of their music and their permission slips at this time.

This year’s Talent Show will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 7pm with a mandatory dress rehearsal on Wednesday, February 22nd from 3:00pm-5:00pm.

The requirements for participating in the show are as follows:

  • All acts are prepared and rehearsed by the child or group on their own time
  • All acts can be no longer than two minutes
  • Music needs to be approved by Mrs. Smith. If possible, please supply a copy of the music for the show.
  • Participants are responsible for supplying any props and costumes needed for their performance.

Each talent show participant MUST register using the following form – Talent Show Permission Slip 2017

The Blythe Park PTA is looking for members who are interested in serving on the 2017-2018 Executive Board. PTA leadership positions are a great opportunity to help make decisions that enhance your child’s educational experience!

2017-2018 EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS:
Listed below are the 2017-2018 Executive Board positions. Click on the following link for a full description of each position (Blythe Park PTA Officer Descriptions).

  • First Vice President (Membership and Volunteers)
  • Second Vice President (Academic Enrichment Programs)
  • Third Vice President (Fundraising)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Parliamentarian
  • Communications Officer

APPLICATION GUIDELINES:
Each term is one year. No person can serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position. Therefore, if an office holder has completed the one year term, he/she is welcome to apply for one more year in that same position.

However, it is mandatory that office holders seeking a second term in the same position, office holders seeking a different position on the executive board, and general members seeking a position on the Executive Board submit a formal application to be considered by the Nominating Committee.

*EVERY person desiring a position on the Blythe Park PTA Executive Board must submit a formal application. All applications are confidential and will only be discussed between members of the Nominating Committee.

2017 NOMINATING COMMITTEE:

Thank you Bulldog families for continuing to support the PTA’s Box Tops Program to earn money for Blythe Park School! The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops submitted through February 24, 2017 will win a Pizza Party for their class – so keep clipping and submitting your Box Tops!

Treat your kid(s) to a hot lunch and treat yourself to a day off from packing lunches!

Hot Lunch is next Friday, February 24th. The menu will include: slice of cheese pizza, seasonal fruit, cookie and a drink. The cost per child is $5.00. To register your child(ren) click on the CheddarUp button below.

You can pay for the Hot Lunch Fundraiser online OR send cash or check (payable to Blythe Park PTA) to the school office with your family name and “Hot Lunch” written on the envelope. You can pay for the remainder of the year or single lunches.

*PLEASE NOTE – All children must be registered online by clicking on the Cheddar Up button below no matter your payment method (cash, check or credit)

The PTA has reserved the entire Oak Brook Aquatic Center to splash around with Blythe Park families and friends. A snack will be provided. *An adult must accompany all children attending.

Complete the Raging Waves Fitness Program and earn a FREE full day admission pass.

Students are invited to “Plunge into Fitness” this spring as Raging Waves Waterpark joins the battle against childhood obesity. Each student completing the program requirements between February 13th through April 10th will receive a FREE full day admission pass to Raging Waves, located in Yorkville.

STUDENTS: Keep track of your exercise by coloring one item on the fitness log for every 30 minutes you exercise. Complete 25 hours of exercise between February 13th – April 10th.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Print the log listed below and help track your child’s fitness, then sign the form and send it back to school or email to the School Coordinator, Vivian Robles at vivro1970@gmail.com by April 10th.
